I met Jefe Replay a few years ago. He was 18 years old and churning out hits like a veteran. One of those hits, initially crafted in late 2012-early 2013, was the Gwap-produced “J.A.P.A.N.”. I don’t say that for the sole purpose of revealing a secret—that a “new” song is in fact years old—but to give readers and listeners a very important heads up: whenever Replay’s release calendar catches up to his most recent work, rappers are in trouble.
