Boston’s “Next Hot Music Producer” crew has been executing a long-winded, well-planned rollout for their latest project, a 13-track instrumental/hip-hop crossover tape called Boston Beats that we have available for free (stream and download) today.
The tape features appearances from 15 rising Boston-based producers and artists including Evilldewer, Billy Loman, Jon Glass, Latrell James, Real P, and many more. A handful of the cuts are instrumental-only, while the rest—such as the previously released “5 and a Half” (a personal favorite)—are laced with bars, too.
Stemming from the project is the official Hot Music Pro competition at the Middle East in Cambridge on September 30th, where all producers involved in the tape will be competing for the top prize of—you guessed it—the “Next Hot Music Producer.” The beatsmiths will perform live for a crowd and panel of judges and be scored based on their skills and entertainment value.
Give the tape a spin (or several) via the link below, and pop over to the Middle East later this month for what will surely be an entertaining evening. Details can be found at the bottom of the page.
