[VIDEO]: Joey Purp – Don’t Stop

Joey Purp is one of my favorite rappers out right now. He’s lyrical, versatile and has proven capable of delivering bangers that sound like nothing else out right now (see “Irie Trill Vibes”).

Taking a break from his Leather Corduroys-related duties, Purp releases a new set of visuals for last year’s “Don’t Stop,” one of his best lyrical exercises to date. The Savemoney spitter rarely wastes a bar, and that rings true here too, as he spends a good portion of the track touching poignantly on the violence that’s been famously sweeping his home city of Chicago.

The Thelovism-directed video finds Purp preaching from a church pulpit, trying desperately to capture the audience’s attention as he sheds light on the truths that some choose to turn their heads from. It’s dark and moody – like the song itself – and laced with B-roll of barren Chicago streets.

Watch above, and stay tuned for more. Hopefully there’s more where this came from on the horizon.
