Sermon’s Domain caught up with Kid Ink in Seattle earlier this month in the midst of the LA native’s My Own Lane tour and chopped it up about his recent success including the chart-topping hit single, “Show Me.”
I’ve never been a big Ink fan, but after watching this interview, I’ll be watching his future moves with a new perspective. He comes off humble and intelligent, touching on all he’s learned in the past year regarding the difference between the release of a mixtape and a major label album – the former has a short burst effect while the latter is more drawn out and slow-burning. He details watching “Show Me” continue to rise on the charts 20 weeks into the record’s release, a phenomenon he hadn’t yet experienced in his young career until now.
He also discusses his expectations for the future, his intentions of getting more involved on the production side of things and the most expensive date he’s ever been on. The wildcard question always adds to the quality of short interviews, and Ink’s personality shines through in this one. Watch above, and stay tuned for more.
