ScHoolBoy Q‘s OXYMORON album hits shelves worldwide this Tuesday. Today, we get a brand new visual for the Alchemist-produced lead single, “Break The Bank.”
Directed by Jason Goldwatch, the video follows Q through his neighborhood streets, capturing the sunny, crime-laden environment in all its essence. Per usual, Q’s daughter plays a role in the production, her innocent presence implemented to offset the gritty images strewn throughout and create a fittingly jarring juxtaposition. Q’s oxymoronic ways – flashed in his 2012 album Habits N Contradictions – have become a staple in his subject matter and career as a whole, and “Break The Bank” is more of the same, both sonically and visually.
This video is Los Angeles to the core and a brilliant depiction of everything Q’s been working to represent through his work since splashing onto the national scene. TDE’s next up is only continuing to pick up steam with each release, and he’s just getting started. Pre-order OXYMORON via iTunes HERE, and stay tuned for more.
