I’m not sure I really like this song. I’m not sure I really like the video either. Somehow, though, I love both.
In “PJs,” Kevin Abstract doesn’t really look or sound particularly comfortable, but as it turns out, that’s exactly why everything works so well. It’s an honest, no-holds-barred product (with an absurd Terio sample around the 3-minute mark), and Kevin embraces his awkward tendencies and trippiness with open arms. The hook is unique and memorable, and the free-form movement in the video is undeniably engaging, if not somewhat endearing.
