Lorine Chia is one of the most refreshing young talents making music today. I’ve been championing her skills since before the release of her debut EP Lorine late last year, and frighteningly enough, she has only continued to improve since and shows no signs of slowing down.
“Eve’s Perspective” off her upcoming Naked Truths project – arriving October 15th – is perhaps the best single I’ve ever heard from the Cleveland-bred songstress. The D&D-produced record is, in Lorine’s words, an expression of “Eve’s regrets in modern day times.”
Beyond her incredibly rich, sultry vocals, Lorine is a hell of a songwriter – always creative in her approach and always able to execute beautifully. This track is an outstanding blend of R&B and hip-hop with old school roots and a modern flair, and if this is the type of music we can expect from Naked Truths, we may have a classic project on our hands in a week.
