[New Music]: Rapsody ft. Chance The Rapper – Lonely Thoughts

Two days ago, Rapsody released her highly-anticipated She Got Game mixtape.

One of the standout cuts from the project, which most could have predicted upon seeing the tracklist, is the Chance The Rapper-assisted “Lonely Thoughts,” produced by Denaun Porter.

“Lonely Thoughts” takes us through a journey through the mind, with Rapsody rhyming, “These just my lonely thoughts that sometimes get off with liquor, so I don’t drink so much no more at war with my own picture.” She continues with a slick, free-flowing verse enhanced by Chance’s background vocals laying a melodic undertone.

Chance follows up Rapsody with one of my favorite verses of the summer, which comes as no surprise to me because Chance has been delivering the most impressive features for over a year. Though he shines on the track, he still shares the spotlight from Rapsody, as it doesn’t feel as much a guest verse as it does an equal part of one cohesive song.

This one is well put together and will stay in rotation for a while. Listen to “Lonely Thoughts” below, and download She Got Game in its entirety HERE.
