Last night, we brought you the first exclusive look at the time we spent with ScHoolBoy Q and Ab-Soul when The Groovy Tour touched down in Boston a week ago.
Tonight, The Fresh Heir and Decriminals are proud to present a brand new video containing live footage from Ab-Soul’s set at the Middle East on April 25th, set to his popular track “Turn Me Up” off Long Term 2.
Ab-Soul tore down the house and captivated the crowd in his short 20-minute set before ScHoolBoy took the stage, leaving me and many others wishing that wouldn’t be the last we’d see of him that night. Q brought him out twice more during his own set, but some of the most memorable moments of the night, at least for me, came from Soulo’s time with the stage to himself.
I’ve talked plenty about the recent dominance of Top Dawg and Black Hippy, but plenty is never too much. Kendrick got the world’s attention with Section.80 last summer, then ScHoolBoy did the same with HnC in January, and now there’s not a doubt in my mind it’s about to be Ab-Soul’s time to shine. With his upcoming project, Control System, releasing May 11th, and songs like “Pineal Gland” paving the way, all I can say is it’s about to be a trippy summer.
Enjoy the video, and stay tuned for more on Ab-Soul and for more exclusives from the TFH x Decriminals x Top Dawg Ent. outing.
